Connected Canadians
Connected Canadians is Canada’s largest Digital Inclusion charity supporting older adults with free technology training and support. Through partnerships with senior communities and other senior-serving organizations, they provide remote one-on-one training sessions, volunteer training and workshops.
Connected Canadians has onboarded over 450 volunteers who speak over 26 languages which allows them to work side-by-side (remotely) with older adults and seniors to tackle various technology-related goals, learn new skills, or accomplish any learning objectives at their own pace with a strong focus on patience, empathy, and connection.
Some common requests for help from Connected Canadians’ senior clients:
- Setting up and using email (including how to send photos)
- How to video chat (e.g FaceTime / Skype / Zoom)
- Communicating by text using your phone
- Facebook/YouTube basics
- Navigating websites and browsers
- Music and the Internet
- Much more!
There’s no limit to the amount of help you can get! To get help, sign up on Connected Canadians’ website here, or call them toll-free at 1-877-304-5813.
